Nels Munson, who left Hallock last spring for parts unknown,has returned. Nels looks well and says he has been on a trip to Sweden.
John Nelson caught a large sturgeon in Twin Lakes weighing75 pounds.
The Stephen people are seriously considering the matterof building a road from Stephen to Roseau.
Nels Cederholm and Minnie Hall of Nelson Park were unitedin holy matrimony on July 10.
H. C. Malmstrom is building a fine large barn on the vacantlot at the rear of his residence.
Peter Lund, Litchfield, is here visiting his son, C. A.Lund, and his son-in-law, Rev. L. P. Lundgren.

Gottfried Lundberg, prominent farmer living near Kennedy,will sail July 31 for Gottenberg, Sweden, his birthplace. This is his firstvisit back to his homeland since he came to this country 65 years ago.
Seven planes left the Hallock airport for the Lake Bronsonair show and pilot's breakfast. The planes were piloted by Arnold Reese,accompanied by his wife and brother; Don Younggren; Harvey Pardun accompaniedby Jerry Eaton and Calvin Costin; Alfred Carlson; Lamar Anderson accompaniedby his brother; Bob Cameron and Bert Merdinck.
Catherine McVean arrived home from Elk River to enjoy hertwo weeks vacation from her duties as county nurse.
A baby girl was born to Rev. and Mrs. Seastrand of Lancasterat the Warren hospital.
Glen Craigmile, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Craigmile, Hallock,can well claim membership in the Jimmy Lynch death dodgers organizationafter his experience at the Warren fair. Glen had entered his model T Fordin the auto races. He had completed winning one of the first heats whenhe decided to enter the second heat for more money. Everything was goingfine until Glen approached a tree. Not far from the tree, he realized thathis steering gear had come loose and his racer was going out of hand doingbetween 50 and 55 miles per hour and headed straight for the tree. At thatmoment Glen made a frantic leap and rolled head over heels. He had a sprainedankle and badly bruised arm, but he was very lucky. As for the Ford - itsracing days are over. The back and front wheels are touching each otherfrom the impact with the tree.

Suzanne Johnson won grand champion for her Guilt hog; TomCraigmile, grand champion for his limousine Angus Cross; David Spilde, grandchampions, ewes; Pam Spilde, grand champion wether lamb; Tim Johnson, grandchampion Barrow hog; Tom Dowdle, grand champion dairy cow; Tim Johnson,grand champion beef heifer; dress revue queen was Wendy Jensen; attendantswere Diane Younggren and DeEtte Stamnes.
Mr. and Mrs Verne Hunt and family attended the baptismof Sonja Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hunt, at St. Patrickschurch. Mary and John Hunt were Godparents.

Dorothy and Larry Bergh returned from a week's vacationat the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. They spent time canoeing and campingwith Dorothy's sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Jay Thody.
Anne Sandul of the Hallock Nursing Home celebrated her106th birthday July 12. Helpin her celebrate were her son, John Sandul,Lancaster; daughters, Rosie Adams, Miami, Florida, Jean Lileks and her daughterDawalla Sorenson and Rose Cerkowniak, Lancaster.
Dave Amann, Hallock was the winner of a Polaris 2 x 4 250cc. The 4-wheeler drawing was sponsored by Leonard Norberg Post 63 and heldduring the Kittson County Fair.

A girl was born to Michael and Cindy (Nicholson) Hansonat Dakota Hospital, Fargo, July 15. She has been named Hannah Lee. Grandparentsare Richard and Maureen Nicholson, Lancaster, and Dr. Harry and Wilma Hanson,Hallock.
First place winner in the antique car show during the GatewayGetaway weekend was Scott Thompson, Hallock. The People's Choice award wasvoted on by 68 onlookers. Thompson entered his 1969 El Camino.
