Chas. Johnson made Donaldson a legal trip in the capacityof constable.
W. J. Shield drove through town with a sleigh load of 16wolves.
A little difficulty between B. E. Sundberg and Pat Kelfoilover the shortage of some 80 odd bushels of wheat was settled in justicecourt.
Young Bill Wilson, in the employ of Jim Rafferty, had themisfortune of crushing his hand between the bumpers of a sleigh, so thatDr. Demars found it necessary to amputate one of the fingers.
Claus Reese has rented the Forbes farm. Claus is a hustlerand he will no doubt make it pay.
Among the haulers of big "jags" of wood fromthe Roseau country we might mention Wilbur Kerns and Be. Baldarson.
Miss Hilda Berg has been under the weather the last fewdays. A valentine from a certain person proved very beneficial in her case.

Cekiel Danielson and son, Guy, proprietors of the garagenamed for them at Lake Bronson, returned from Minneapolis where they hadgone to see the pre-showing of the 1949 Dodge and Plymouth cars.
Mr. and Mrs. Gale Berg are the parents of a baby boy bornFeb. 23.
Several girls from the bank, including Stella Moore, AlicePearson, and Ethel Thompson took the bus to Grand Forks and spent the holidayin that city visiting.
Mrs. Minnie Davnie returned from Des Moines, Iowa, whereshe has spent some time visiting at the homes of her two daughters, Mrs.C. E. Phillips (Joan) and Mrs. James Riggs (Jeanne), Kansas City. She alsospent time with her son, William and wife, at Fargo.
Alfred Rustad, Jr. is back to work again in the Humboldtstore, after being laid up several weeks with a broken bone in his hand.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roy, Pembina, announce the engagementof their daughter, Lorna, to Marshal Hemmes, son of Mr. and Mrs. WilburtHemmes, Humboldt. A Sept. 18 wedding is planned.
A terrific explosion rocked the Lancaster community shortlybefore 6 a.m. and in minutes the Lancaster Co-op Association building wasengulfed in flames. Two gas pumps was all that remained. The loss has beenestimated at $250,000.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Koop joined Mrs. Koop's brother andwife, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jorgensen, Stephens Point, Wisconsin, on a 14day trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

Taking first place in the Lancaster snow sculpture contestwas the Lancaster 4-H club. Other winners were second, Casey Faken and MichaelPeterson; third, Heidi Nordin and Twyla Peterson; fourth, Jennifer Steen.
Dave and Doris Fertig, Hallock, announce the engagementof their daughter, Stephanie, to Donald Fournier, son of Jim and Beth Dowling,Chicopee, MA. A July 1 wedding is planned.

A Valentine sleigh ride party was held at Wally Larson's.Those attending were Leona Chwialkowski, Patti, Mark and Danielle Langehaug,Anna Levenhagen, John Johnson, Rick and Vickie Turn and Chico, Dona Donarski,Jerry Larson, Toby Nay, Reynard and Lenore Olson, June Peterson, Rudy Borg,Earl Glidden, Gary Melin, Amy Levenhagen, Leanna Lindstrom, Erlyce Blomquist,Tonbi Waller, Mary Etta and LaMar Anderson, Kennky and Vernita Waller, Rollandand Melba Benson, Morty Campbell, Ferdy Larson, Elaine Anderson, ConnieGoldstrand and Virgil Lindstrom.
Terry and Kelly Kukowski are the parents of a baby girlborn Feb. 18. She has been named Karrah Lynn. her grandparents are Denaland Arlene Johnson and Norbert and Judy Kukowski, all of Lancaster.
