James Davnie went to St. Cloud. We understand Mr. Davnieis figuring on renting his farm here and joining a brother-in-law in businessat that place.

We understand that Kennedy is to soon experience a littleboom. E. M. Engelbert will open a bank at that place and the How LumberCo., a yard. Kennedy is fast becoming one of the best business points inthe county.

C. F. Peterson and wife, Siv. Anderson and wife, T. M.George, wife and mother and Wm. Bowden went to Crookston to hear Sousa andhis band. They reported the concert a treat of a lifetime.

Messrs. Chas. Clow and E. W. Pierce have been surveyingthe county ditch the past few days.

Wm. Easter is loading a car of wheat and barley for FrankRussel of Stephen. The barley was raised from Eph. Clow's celebrated SouthAfrican seed.

Sven Johannson, resident of the Hallock Rest Home, celebratedhis 99th birthday March 22 and was as hale and hardy as most men in their70s.

A pre-nuptial shower was held at the Hallock City Hallfor Katherine Moe whose marriage will take place next month.

A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Eschler. Mrs.Eschler is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lud Johnson, Hallock. They are operatinga cafe at kennedy.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Peterson, Orleans and Mr. and Mrs.Ole Homstad, Lancaster returned from a two months trip to the West Coast.

Carol Costin and Tom Hamilton, together with their parents,Ken and Ruth Costin, Hallock and Ken and Vivian Hamilton, Duluth, announcetheir engagement and forthcoming marriage. A May 7 wedding is planned.

Marge Murray Glad and Mary Lou Murray Sateren are on avacation to Mesa, Arizona. Valerie (Hunter) Rosenbaum had them and a fewfriends at her place for an Easter brunch. The girls were school mates a"few" years ago.

Linda Noel, a senior at Hallock High School, and a memberof the Hallock-Kennedy girls basketball team has been named to the GrandForks Herald's all-area girls' basketball team. Noel is the daughter ofMr. and Mrs. Hank Noel, Hallock.

The Hallock Lions Club installed three new members. Themembers include Bill Moore, Sr., Hallock; Dave Stewart, Lancaster; JohnVollmer, Hallock.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Nelson, Ocala, Florida announce theengagement of their daughter, Holly to Duane Sand, son of Judy and MarvinClow, Lancaster and sone of the late Gary Sand. An April 9 wedding is planned.
