Housecleaning is the watchword in Hallock and there isbut little rest for the busy housewife - poor thing.
The local agency of the Hamm Brewing Co. has again changedhands. Aug. Lindman is in charge, Vice Albert Anderson.
We didn't see it, but we can imagine how cheap (and wet)John Sjoholm felt when he fell in the slough the other evening.
A. R. Swanson and Chas. Moore are having the vacant lotbetween the West Hotel and St. Anthony elevator cleared off and leveledfor a tennis court.
A school election is about to be called to vote on bondsto build the other wing to the present school building, also to put in aheating plant. The last legislature raised the appropriation to high schoolsfrom $400 to $800 per year. This will more than pay the interest on thepresent bonds and those about to be issued. Our present building is yetunfinished and though it has been built but a couple or three years andis much larger than the old building, it has already proven of insufficientcapacity to accomodate the number who attend school, 3specially during thewinter months.

Ben Skogan, who farms in south Poppleton, was injured whenthe Allis Chalmers tractor he was driving, turned over, pinning him beneathit. He was driving the tractor over a high grade, pulling a trailer in whichhis 10 year old son, Darrel, was riding. His son was not injured and ranto Fred Anderson who was cutting wood nearby. His leg was bruised but nobones were broken.
Warden Paul Blide apprehended four deer hunters after theyhad killed two deer. The men were Russell Wick, Pine Creek, Roseau County,who was employed near Kennedy; Wilfred Johnson, Strandquist; Alton Larsonand Ray Anderberg, Lake Bronson.
Dorothy Mae Larson, daughter of Arthur Larsons, recentlyunderwent an appendectomy operation at the Hallock Hospital.
The Hallock Lutheran church was the scene of a beautifulwedding April when Leona Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Nels Oscar Johnson, Hallockand Peter McEwen, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. McEwen, Humboldt, exchangedwedding vows.

Alan and Bonnie Lundeen, Karlstad, announce the birth ofa daughter. She was born March 29 at Thief River Falls. She has been namesMorganne Olivia. Grandparents are Melvin and Carol Lundeen, South Havenand Hilding and florence Swanson, Kennedy.
Linda Noel, a senior at Hallock High School, continuedher outstanding high school athletic career in setting a new school andmeet record in the high jump. She also captured the 200 meter run.

Rachael Wagner and Jason Pearson, together with their parents,Glenn and Mardelle Wagner, Gonvick and Perry and Shirly Pearson, Hallock,announce their engagement. A June 11 wedding is planned.
Kenneth and Audrey Lindgren, Steve and Sandie Lindgren,Joni and Mike Anderson spent a few days in Boston, Mass. to watch the Bostonmarathon in which their son and brother, Darrel Lindgren of Marina Del Rey,Calif. participated.
Jerry Peterson visited Lon Jerome. Lon and Mary Jo Jeromeare moving to Louisiana. Lon works for the casino in Mille Lacs and theyare expanding to Louisiana so Lon is moving with the company. They are avery adventuresome couple.
