Mrs. T. Henry, Red River, left on a visit to British Columbia.

Mr. Jenkins, Sr., who recently bought the Berg property,is erecting a large barn and he hopes to move his family in for the winter.

The contest winners for the fire department medals areannounced. Wm. Inglis succeeded in holding the medla four coupling, makingit in five seconds flat; A. H. Anderson being the other competitor. GusDeMars captured the ladder climb in eight seconds, against three other contestants,Will Dure, Chas. Moore and Chas. Dure. The 200 yard run went to Chas. Moore.

1949 - 50 years ago

Elwood Ehrenstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Ehrenstrom,Lancaster, flew to Bemidji and purchased a three passenger Cub Cruiser plane.Elwood is a student flyer at the local Younggren airport.

Jerry Diamond, who has operated a filling station and motelin south Hallock, has closed his place for the winter months and has accepteda position with the Buick agency at Warren as a salesman.

Adjacent to the cemetery in the new section owned by theRydens, Vincent Mattson and Art Bengstson homes are beginning to take formwhich suggests they will be very creditable structures.

Joyce Slagerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Slagerman,Bathgate, became the bride of Charles Walters, son of Mr. and Mrs. EdwardWalters, Hallock.

The former Wm. Ash residence has been moved on the LawrenceBurton property and repaired for occupancy.

Harris Hanson, Cyrus Hanson, Alden Peerson, and PhilipPeterson went duck hunting in the Caribou county.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Ingeman and family and Mr. and Mrs.Kenneth Hanson and daughter left for a three weeks trip out west.

Mr. and Mrs. Benny Lindgren were tendered a surprise partywhen a large gathering of friends and relatives gathered to help them celebratetheir 15th anniversary.

1974 - 25 years ago

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hallberg, and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Dahl,both of Kennedy, announce the engagement of their children, Vicky and Conrad.A Dec. 21 wedding is planned.

Julie Cameron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cameron,Hallock, was crowned the 1974 homecoming queen at Hallock High School.

Susan Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Larson, Kennedy,has been named to the Concordia College junior varsity women's field hockeyteam.

Lynn Sanner and Billy Moore were honored at an engagementdinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sanner, Lancaster, at the Crossroads.Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Moore, Mr. and Mrs. James Younggren,Shelly, Jennifer and Gary Sanner.

Ding and Kay Lund have a granddaughter. Her name is ErinKay Dagen and she was born Sept. 8 to Mary and Troy Dagen, Karlstad.

A girl was born to Gary and Julie Johnson, Humboldt, Oct.1, 1989. She has been named Rebecca May.

A transfer from Valley City State University, Brian Dahl,Donaldson, is a starting defensive end at Moorhead State University. Dahlis the son of DeeAnn and Ronald Dahl, Donaldson.

Harriet and Glenn Sanner made a trip to Oregon leavingSept. 13 and arriving home Sept. 27. They went to visit a sister of Harriet's.

Joell Diamond has returned to Mayville State College forthe '89-'90 school year and will be a starting player on the Comet's volleyballteam. Joell is the daughter of Dennis and Perm Diamond, Humboldt.

Susan's Restaurant, Lancaster, owned by Susan Anderson(Weaver), recently sold the business to Margie and Gary Whitlock, Lancaster.

Rhonda Schwenzfeier and Eric Spilde announce their engagement.Rhonda is the daugher of Roger and Phyllis Schwenzfeier and Eric is theson of Gary and Cindy Spilde, Kennedy. A Nov. 24 wedding is planned.
