James Diamond came out from Devonshire, England. He was married in England to a Proctor and they had some children before they came out. His sister, Rebecca Diamond, married Hugh Cudmore. They both settled on the Winsloe Road of PEI.
This brother and sister are ancestors of the Diamond and Cudmore families on PEI. James was reportedly the oldest in his family.
The next year, three more brothers came out. Humphrey went to live in the Northam area of PEI and they spelled their name DYMENT. The other two brothers, Robert and Charles, went to Ontario and they spelled their name DYMOND.

Eliza and Wallace both lived on the Rustico Road (North Milton). A son of Eliza was named Thomas. He did the brickwork on the Winsloe South Church built in 1880, then a Bible Christian Church which became the United Church.

They lived on the Mt. Edward Road near the railroad and later moved to Winsloe South and lived on the property later owned by William Hambly - now Ivan Turner.
Children of James Diamond and Maria Lear:
1. Bessie Maria Diamond
James, Maria, and Bessie owned and lived in a house on Euston Street in Charlottetown, PEI. James still owned the land on Winsloe Road. James named David Robert Hooper as his executor and W. W. Sullivan.
An internet search showed a John Diamond b. 1844, Canada and a James Diamond b. 1860, Canada. James was shown as a boarder at O'Reiley household on the 1880 census.
