A sad gloom was cast over Springfield West, Lot 8, on Sept 5th, 1918 when it was learned that Mr. Archibald Easter has passed away in his 74th year after a lingering illness during which he was never heard to murmur or complain. During his illness his suffering was greatly alleviated by the best medical skill and kind and loving nursing at the hime. Besides a large host of friends he leaves to mourn a sorrowing widow and four daughters, viz: Mrs Rober Carr, Woodstock, NB; Mrs John Gay, East Boston; Mrs Clifford Dyment (Alice) , Springfield West; Mrs W J Vincent, Alma, PEI; also four brothers: George of Kensington, William of Wilmont Valley, Robert of Indian River, Charles of Charlottetown, and one sister Mrs. George Heatherly of New Wiltshire. The funeral which was very largely attened took place on Sept 8th, 1918 to Bethel Cemetery, services at the house and grave being conducted by Rev. R. Brodie, assisted by Mrs. Brodie and Rev. M. Mellick.
