Mountain Home - David Wilkie Ferguson, 86, of Mountain Home, died Friday, March 7, 2003.
He was born Feb. 12, 1917 in Hallock to Arthur and Mathilda Matthews Ferguson.
On June 21, 1938, he married the former Dorothy McCrystal in Humboldt in the Methodist Church. Four sons including a set of triplets were born to this union. He moved to Mountain Home 18 years ago from Roselle, IL.
He attended refrigeration school in Minneapolis and was employed as a refrigeration supervisor and later promoted to Assistant Fleet Manager of the Armour Company in Chicago.
After the Armour plant closed, he was employed by Bowman Dairy and the Penn Central Railroad until his retirement. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
He was interested in real estate and sports and never missed a game that his sons participated in.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons: Bradley, Mountain Home; Robert and his wife, Connie, Bloomingdale, IL, Dr. Douglas, Scottsdale, AZ; one sister, Nancy Winters, Lewiston, ID; eight grandchildren and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John Spencer; two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Brooks officiating.
Private interment will be held in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
