Death certificate shows she was born in Canada, but she was born in Virgina, Minnesota. Jean wa married in 1940 to a sailor named Jack Cottrell. He was with the Canadian Navy. They lived in Windsor, Canada. She came to the U. S. to live and stayed in California. She had a child out of wedlock in 1951. She was born at the Alhambra Hospital and she gave her up for adoption as the father was a sailor and already married. He had been stationed at Long Beach and then San Diego. The baby girl was adopted by Albert E. Coffee who lived in San Gabriel, CA off of the New Ave below Valley. No contact was made, she wrote once and asked to see the baby, but they refused her.

He recieved the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal with Clasp,Asiatic Pacific Campaign Meda; amd European Africian Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.

He was a truck driver in the service and a Automobile Serviceman at Hughes Aircraft in Long Beach.

At the time of death she was living at 1042 North Wilcox #40, Hollywood, CA. Took her own life with a Multidrug- Intoxication. SS#571-90-5652. Adopted by Albert E Coffey born 5 June 1916 and died 2 Oct 1974 and Relda Mary Mason Coffey born 14 Jan 1920 and died 1 Nov 1990. They are both buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood. Section Tenderness, Lawn Crypt 1B lot 3326 She is buried on top of Albert E. Coffey, but her name has not been added to the Buriel Stone. They also adopted a boy named Lee Coffey born May 16, 1960 Los Angeles, CA. He is married to Liz and they have three children Kevin 10, Tanya 16, and Jennie 18. They live in Quartz Hill, CA.
