Grand Forks, N.D. - Everett M. "Ernest" Hanson, 83, Grand Forks, and formerly of Grafton died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003 at his home in Grand Forks. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Interment was at the Grafton City Cemetery. Military rites were provided by the Paul Farup American Legion Post #147 of Park River.

Everett M. "Ernest" Hanson was born Nov. 11, 1920 near Walcott, the son of the late Otto and Carrie (Glade) Hanson. He grew up and attended school in Lancaster. He served in the United States Army from 1942-1943.

He married Lenora Hust on Nov. 7, 1953 in St. Paul. The couple lived in St. Paul for a time. They later lived in the Hoople, Park River and Grafton areas where he farmed. Lenora died Oct. 20, 1995 and he moved to Grand Forks where he has lived since.

He is survived by his son Curtis (Clare) Hanson, Memphis, Tenn.; granddaughter, Shawn Curry; two great grandchildren, Charles and Paige; brother Orrwood Morris (Mary) Hanson, Phoenix, Ariz; sister Alvina (Donald) Hodge, Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters; Alice, Carol, Nora, and Viola, and brothers: John, Severt, and Alfon.

Pallbearers were Dennis Skjordal, Randy Skjordal, Jeff Skjordal, Keith Nilson, Tom Curry and Claude Simmons.

The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton was in charge of the arrangements.
