In 1905, Reuben Cory served as a Board member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Minnesota.

In 1908, The Lancaster Herald, date of issue unknown, reported that "Mr. and Mrs. Rube Cory and children returned from several months visit in eastern Ontario."

In 1914, The Lancaster Herald, date of issue unknown, reported that "An enthusiastic meeting was held at the city hall by the farmers of the vicinity of Lancaster and it was decided to make a permanent organization which will work in harmony with the American Society of Equity. The main object of this organization is to create the best possible market for the different agricultural products and to build suitable warehouses for the storage of same. The following officers were elected: Pres. Thos. Coleman; Vice Pres. R. H. Cory; Secretary and Treas. R. Olson; Directors Wm. M. Viereck, P. J. Peters, J. Alexanders, John Kothe, and Olander Benson."
