Warren went to school and grew up in Humboldt, MN. He graduated from Moorhead State College and joined the Naval Air Force in 1941. He was a member of the first graduating class of Corpus Christie, TX. He flew a four engine patrol bomber and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his part in the battle of the South Pacific, The Coral Sea. He was a Lt. Commander and held this rank in the naval reserve.

After the war he flew for Trans World Airlines and then was employed by Aryst Laboratories. He joined the Santa Barbara Probation Department in 1963. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Channel City Club, and was active in the Mesa Improvement Association.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, two daughters, Elizabeth Turner of Santa Barbara, CA and Suzanne Barrow of Canoga Park, CA, a son, Raymond, Grover City, CA, two brothers, Scott of Kennedy, MN, Charles of West St. Paul, four sisters, Helen Cook and Mary Lou Klooze of Ft. Wayne, IN, Jane Hayes of Oxford, OH, and Ruth Pederson of Seattle, WA, six grandchildren and 30 nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the military section of the Santa Barbara Cemetery.
