M: 28 Dec 1881, Angeline Betts, Lot 7, (b. 1856 d. 1923) by Rev. Arthur F. Carr, Alberton Presbyterian Church. He inherited the farm of his father, Henry Matthews, in Lower Dock. They had a family of five: Lottie, Clifford, Elsie, Silas and Russell.

M: 01 Feb 1911 (1) Sarah Adele Currie, Age 19, Dau of Hector & Margaret Currie, Alberton and after her death he remarried. (Possibly St. Peters Cemetery)

M: (2) Blanche Hodgson, Hills River, Dau of Thomas Hodgson b. 03 Nov 1884 d. 30 Jan 1976 (One record says no children and another says 31 Dec 1960)

2. Silas Henry Matthews

D: 24 Oct 1965, Buried in Hillcrest Cemetary, Alberton
M: Lydia Tryphemia Wells, daughter of Asa McCabe Wells. Silas was a fisherman and lived with his family at Northport, PEI.

3. Russell Matthews
B: 1892 or 1893

M: 1914, Amy Lou Ramsay, B: 1897, D: Jan 1966 dau of Bertram and Martha (Wright) Ramsay of Montrose.

Russell Matthews, son of Archibald (Archie) Matthews and Angeline (Betts) Matthews inherited his father's farm and also bought the adjoining farm of his cousin John Smith Matthews when the latter moved to Kensington, PEI. In addition to farming, Russell pelted foxes for neighboring ranchers. Russell and Amy Lou had: Lowell, Kenneth, Noelle, Isabel, Marie, Flo, Glen, Haldine, Florence, Glen, Fred, Clair, Maewood, and Wendell. See Russell Matthews' sheet.

4. Lottie Matthews
M: 1903 Sam (Bud) Fraser b. 1879 d. 1945. He was a son of Daniel Fraser and Sarah Matthews Fraser of "The Wharf", now known as Northport. He bought the home and land formerly owned by William Aubrey. This land is situated below the Inman farm near the water in Lower Dock. He was also a fisherman at a time when fishing was ardous work.

5. Elsie Matthews
M: Henry Moreshead, son of Joseph Moreshead of West Devon, PEI. They had one daughter, Elsie Moreshead who died young and following her death, Joseph moved to Maine.
