Heber Matthews, holds B.A. and M.Ed. degrees from Mount Allison University and did post graduate study in Columbia University, New York. He taught in several island schools and then in high Schools in Quebec City and Montreal. For several years he was a guidance consultant with the Protestant School Board of Montreal. He retired in 1969 and spends summers in Northport, PEI and winters in Florida. He married Winnifred Coates of Prescott, Ontario and they had a family of four sons and one daughter - Wendy, Wayne, Kenneth Peter and Derek.
