Scott Clow's Memories
Buffalo Migration
An old Native American lady lived in a cabin along LakeStella which is
SE of St. Vincent. She was in her late 90's when ScottClow's
granndparents were in school & they used to talk toher. She said the
buffalo would migrate down through Canada between Cal'sJunction and St.
Vincent. They would pass through there for 3 days &3 nights as far as
the eye could see. They crossed the Red River south ofa farm which was
later owned by Mike Rustad's great aunt and her husband. There was a
shallow bank of the river which allowed them to cross easily. It makes
you wonder if that is what caused the beaten down banksof the river in
that area. She said there was a great rumbling as theyran by for 3
days.
