Malcolm Ramsay's sons, Malcolm and Edward, came to PEI aboard the Annabelle in 1770 with their Uncle John Ramsay and their 4 cousins from Scotland. The Annabelle ran aground on 27 Sep 1770 at Darnley Point sinking the ship and cargo but with no loss of life. The Ramsay's settled on Lot 18 (Princeton).

It is noted in "The Princeton Pioneers" that both the Ramsay family and MacArthur family were farmers and members of the Highland (Gaelic speaking) congregation in the parish of Campbelltown, Argyllshire, Scotland and were on the Annabelle. It is suggested that Rev. Charles Steward, paster of their church and father of the ships owners, recruited families from his congregation. It is not surprising to see much inter-marrying between the two clans.
