DESHLER-- Funeral services for Clifford E. Courtney, 67, of Deshler, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rodenberger

Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. Anita Duggan officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler, with military rites by Deshler American Legion Post 316.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Courtney died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998 at Grand Rapids Care Center, Grand Rapids.

He was born Oct. 21, 1931 in Deshler to Elmer and Marie (Smith) Courtney. He married Clara Ellen Coldren on July 25, 1954 in Deshler, and she survives in Deshler.

Also surviving are three sons, Gary, of Ottawa; Jerry of Napoleon; Craig of Deshler; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Connie) Rickenberg, Malinta; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; and a brother, Bill of Weston.

He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Richard and Robert.

Mr. Courtney worked as a fork lift operator at Philips Electronics North America Corp., Ottawa, for 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler, and Deshler American Legion Post 316. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
