Jorgine Rickenberg

Jorgine Rickenberg, 86, Karlstad, MN died March 2nd at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center. She was born 27 Jan 1900 to the late Alfred and Rachel Anderson in Lincoln Township of Marshall County, near Strandquist.

She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Strandquist community, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She taught in several rural schools in the area.

She married Harry Rickenberg April 30, 1924 at Halma and the couple lived and farmed in Jupiter Township of Kittson County near Kennedy. Harry died Jan 1966 and she moved into Karlstad where she had since resided.

She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Karlstad and of the A. L. C. W.

She was also a member of the Karlstad Senior Citizens Group.

She is survived by three sons: Allan of Newton, KS, James of Kennedy, and Ronald of Claycomo, MO, one daughter, Harriet Gedney of Blaine, MN, eight grandchildren , three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held March 5th, at the First Lutheran Church, Karlstad, with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Anderson, soloist, and Charlene Helling, organist. Pallbearers were Alvin, Roy, Elmer, Adolph, and Francis Anderson and Earl Gorvin.

Interment was held in the East Emmanaus Cemetery near Kennedy. Arrangements were made with the Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad.
