Roy Ryden Obituary
Kittson County Enterprise, 17 Sep 2003
Payson, Ariz. - Roy William Ryden, 90, Payson, Ariz. died Sept. 2, 2003.
On Oct. 29, 1938, Roy married Aline Westberg. They lived in Hallock for over 42 years where they farmed and raised their family.
They were active members of Grace Lutheran Church and were active in the community through several clubs and organizations.
In 1980, when Roy retired from farming, Roy and Aline made the difficult decision to move from Hallock and relocate in Payson. They enjoyed a beautiful home in Payson and treasured the many winter visits from their northern Minnesota friends and relatives.
Roy's favorite pastimes were playing in the community band, the curling club, the Lion's Club, following his children's participation in high school music, and athletics, fishing and hunting, and his friends and family.
Family survivors are three children: William (Mary) Ryden, Peoria, Ariz; Carolyn (Bob) Ludwig, Grand Rapids, and Jerry (Susan) Ryden, Payson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Ryden, Hallock; Jim Ryden, Payson, Ariz. and one sister, Mae Glad, Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aline in November of 1999.
An interment service was held at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Payson, Sept. 10.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held at a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Phoenix, Ariz.
Memorials to the Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock are preferred.
