Hallock, Minn. - Margaret L. Anderson, 89, Hallock, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Thursday, July 4, 2002.

Margaret L. Rynning was born in Skane Township of Kittson County June 24, 1913, the daughter of Axel and Hilda (Jodaa) Rynning.

She grew up in Skane Township and was educated at Dahlgren Elementary School and graduated from Kennedy High School.

Margaret attended Moorhead State Teacher College and graduated in 1957 with a masters degree in education. She taught in rural schools as well as the elementary school in Kennedy. She was chosen "Kittson County Teacher of the Year" in 1970.

On August 31, 1941 she married William A. Anderson at Zion Lutheran Church in Kennedy. They lived in Kennedy until 1959 when they moved to Hallock.

She was a member of Maria Lutheran Church where she was active in bible study, bible school, Sunday school and WELCA. She served as a volunteer for the Kittson County Hospice Program, visiting residents at the nursing home. William died on November 2, 2000.

Family members include three sisters-in-law, Gladyce Rynning, Lorraine Rynning, and Sarah Anderson as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Gunard, Ishmael, Axel Jr. and James; a niece, Renae Rynning Hughes and nephew, Richard Rynning.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at 10 a.m. in Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy. Interment was in the Kennedy Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Losch and Mylo Carlson, presided. Special music provided by Patti Swanson.

Honorary casket bearers were family and friends.

Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, was in charge of arrangements.
