Hallock - Hilda Sugden, 92, Hallock, died at her home Sunday, April 8, 2001.
Hilda Nyren was born in Lake Bronson, april 24, 1908, the daughter of Axel Nyren and Mary (Lindell) Nyren. She attended school in Lake Bronson and worked at the telephone office in Lancaster from 1927 to 1929.
On March 23, 1929 she was united in marriage to Wesley Sugden at Hallock. They settled in Hallock and lived there until 1932 when they moved to a farm north of town. Hilda and Wesley farmed for many years in Kittson County, retiring in 1974. They moved back into Hallock in 1985.
Wesley died Jan. 26, 1987. Hilda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; was a former 4-H leader and belonged to the Homemakers Club.
Family members include a daughter, Mona (James) Hotten, Hallock; two sons, Ronald (Gloria) Sugden and Maurice (Dianne) Sugden both of Hallock; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; husband, Wesley, and a grandson, Lee David.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 14, 2001, 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Hallock. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Rev. Kenneth Losch, presided.
Pallbearers were great grandson, Nathan Sugden, Borey Sugden, Kevin Gjovik, Conrad Gjovik, Mark Sugden, Chris Sugden, Ian Sugden and Cole Sugden.
Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
