Clara Webster
Clara Webster, 96, Hallock and formerly, St. Vincent, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999.
Clara Jennie Moris was born April 16, 1902, the daughter of Frank C. and Minnie (Volrath) Moris on their homestead in Pembina County. The family later moved into Pembina and Clara graduated from high school there in 1920.
On Jan. 19, 1927, she was united in marriage to William Webster. The couple settled in St. Vincent Township and farmed there for many years. William died July 5, 1976. Clara continued to live on the farm until November, 1990 when she entered the nursing home.
Family members include two sons, Moris (Diana) Webster, St. Vincent, and Rodney (Jean) Webster, Pembina; a daughter, Virginia (Barney) Duhachek, Delano; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Frank, Janes A., George and Walter Moris; and sisters Mathilde Barry and Minnie Russell.
Funeral services were Friday, March 5, 1999, 23 p.m. in the Mission Covenant Church, Hallock. Interment was in the Joe River Cemetery, rural St. Vicent. Rev. David Pearson, presiding.
Pallbearers were Jim Moris, Frank Moris, Gary Webster, Mark Ellison, Jon Duhachek and Dean Dagen.
Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
