Cemetery Index on Microfilm for Stearns, Benton & Sherburne Counties started in 1973. Currently these indexes are available on a CD per county.  Released in the last five years.

Since 1983, members of St. Cloud Area Genealogist's have been indexing obituaries in St. Cloud Daily Times.  The first CD-ROM contains a database of over 10,000 names, which includes researched and recorded the names of obituaries that are recorded in the early editions of the St. Cloud Daily Times from 1887-1907.    This is an index and will point you to the paper and page where the obit will be found.  Buy it for $22.00

Second Index is now available from 1908-1928 and will connect researchers to the 1928.   Buy it for $22.00

The current index that is maintained at Great Regional Public Library in St. Cloud, 1928 to current   and is on line.  Click the hyperlink to go to the site. 

This information contains listings from personal columns that may give researchers information on names, ages, maiden name (if given) date and page of the notice and other information that is available, such as parents, siblings or if they were in the Civil War. Other information may include out of area relatives that attended a funeral.

Coming is the online database with Stearns county rural newspapers. Melrose, Albany, Kimball, Eden Valley, Cold Spring, Freeport.  Watch for updates.
