"Before a number of friends, Miss Margaret Alice Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Porter, and Mr. Henry Newton Randall plighted their troth on Tuesday evening. The ceremony was performed at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church by Rev. A. H. Carver at 8:30 o'clock. It was a very dainty, pretty wedding and an affair long to be remembered by the friends present for the occasion also celebrated the golden wedding of the bride's parents. Miss Maud Nichols and Miss Jennie Westway were the bridesmaids and Mr. John M. Graham the best man. An informal reception followed the church service and after Aug 20. Mr. and Mrs. Randall will be at home at 518 West Third Street."

"Maud" Porter's brothers formed the Porter Brothers Construction Company, for a while in Duluth, then in Canada, where they reconstructed the Welland Canal at Niagara Falls among other large projects. Henry Newton Randall worked for them. His brother was Joseph Randall, Duluth Fire Chief 1906-1927.
