STRUKEL
Searching for information on Frank STRUKEL believed to be buried in the Eveleth Cemetery widowed his wife Helen ZAKRAJSEK who bore them 2 sons Frank b 2 Jul 1910 in Eveleth, Edward born 2 Jan 1914, family migrated to Pennsylvania as children and when Helen remarried (probably in Eveleth) took their stepfathers name BERSICH (phonetic, maybe BEVCICH?). At some point they took the name STRUKY believing it to be proximate to their birth fathers name. They grew up in Pennsylvania and their ancestors are still there.

Both are likely immigrants from Carniola (Krain), Austria (present day Slovenia). A Helene Zakrajsek 18 yoa, single immigrated 13 Jan 1904 from Laibach (Lubijana) to NY destined for a Eveleth and brother in law(?) Franz STRUKEL, Box 366 likely the same Helen ZAKRAJSEK but no corroboration.

Seeking identifiers for Frank & Helen and their ancestors to compare with Sv. Trojica nad Cerknico Parish records for my maternal great grandparents.

I am an expatriate "Ranger" (Mountain Iron) living in NW Nevada.

Seeking information on Jakob KOCHEVAR (Hocevar) Killed in a mining explosion 18 Apr 1893 with Chas. Nelson, 34, Sweden, James B. Nettel, in Breitung township (prob. Soudan Mine). He and a brother Johan who later spelled his name KOCHAVER emigrated from Primcavas or Kompolje and probably immigrated in the early 1890's to Soudan. A brother, Philippus Hocevar b. 9 APR 1887 emigrated to the US time and destination unknown

Their father Miha (Michael) KOCHEVAR born bet 15 JUN 1849 AND 14 JUN
1850 and was resident in Mountain Iron, in 1905. He had immigrated probably between 16 MAY 1902 AND 14 MAY 1903.

I would like information on the circumstances of the mining explosion that killed Jakob and on life of Mike and Phillipus Hocevar after immigration.

I have Jakob's death certificate. I have found no identifiable records for the deaths of Michael or Phillipus.

SATZ
I am interested in any information regarding my great grandfather Gustav
Adolf Satz (Born Österfärnebo, Sweden dec. 30 1891). Last known residential address: 55811 Duluth, Saint Louis, MN.
What I know: He emigrated from Sweden 1923 and his wife Anna and son Rudolf joined him one year later. They lived in Detroit for some time where he worked for Ford Motor Company. He divorced Anna 1930 and she moved back to Sweden with Rudolf and her new husband Edvin Theodor Dahlberg (later Arnoldsson). Gustav kept in contact with his son for some years but we know very little about his life. Rudolf (my grandfather) is still around and would love to know what happened to his father.

Please contact me on the e-mail address above if you have any information on Gustav Satz.
Regards, Anna Arnoldsson, Stockholm Sweden

BACKLUND
I am seeking information on a Backlund family that emigrated from Jämtland in Sweden to Minnesota in 1882. They presumably lived in West Duluth according to a photo taken of the family that was sent back to Sweden. I am particularly interested in knowing if there are descendants still in the Duluth area. Names and birth dates for the Backlund immigrant children are: Jonas Wilhelm 12/31/1873; Brita Elisabet June 11, 1875; Anders Johan January 30, 1878; Nils Olof ?, 1880. Another daughter Lydia was born in Minnesota. The descendants of the sibling who stayed in Sweden would be most interested in finding their relatives in the U.S.

ROSENTHAL - EDER
I am looking for any information on my maternal grandmother Ruth Olga Rosenthal (maiden name Eder). She was born in 1912. (October I think) I am told she had a radio program on a Duluth radio station sometime during the period of 1936-1948.  She played the piano and apparently had a beautiful singing voice. She was married to Lawrence John Rosenthal in 1936. He played professional baseball on several teams including the N.Y. Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia A's during the time period of 1936-1945 or so. Ruth often held "socials" for the wives of the ball players. She died at the age of 36 in August/September of 1948. Do you have any newspaper articles or photographs of Ruth or Larry? (Bud or Rose were nicknames of Larry's) Do you know of any "tapes" of the radio programs? Is there an historical archive at any of the radio stations in Duluth, MN? I am hoping to get copies of any audio material as my mother (Janice Ruth Rosenthal Miller) was only 8 years old when her mother Ruth died. I would like to give my mother a wonderful and unique gift of remembering her mother. Thank you in advance for your assistance in my search.

He was born September 1, 1892 and died February 17, 1971.
