LAST RITES HELD TUESDAY, JULY 19, FOR ETTEUS (EDWARD) BRUNS
Funeral services for Ed Bruns age 88,were held Tuesday,July 19,at 1:30 o'clock atthe Dumont Reformed church, with Rev. John P. Ailts officiating. Bruial was in the Dumont cemetery. The Vogel funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Bruns passed away at his home in Bristow, Saturday July 16, from a lingering illness.
Edward Bruns was born in Ostfriesland,Germany, on October 28,1877. He came to this country in *1902 with his mother and one sister and the family settled at Ackley. He was United in marriage on April 18,1905 to Miss Recka Klock. To this union two sons were born. They are Joe at home and Edward,of Waverly.
The couple started to farm near the Washington Reformed church. From there they moved to a farm in Franklin county and live in this vicinity until they moved to Bristow in 1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two sons,Joe of Bristow and Edward, of Waverly, four grandchildren,eight great grandchildren and a host of friends.
He became a member of the Dumont Reformed church in 1965.Mr. Bruns had not been well for the past several years and a few weeks ago he was taken seriously ill.
