Dearest brother thou hast left us

Here thy loss we deeply feel

But tis God [Himself] bereft us

He can all our sorrows heal

Yet again [we] hope to meet thee,

When the day of life is fled,

And in heaven with joy to greet thee,

Where no farewell tear is shed.

… and …

We will not weep for thee,

… shall … All that …

He is not dead only sleeping.

My dear wife, do not lonely be

But live aright and come to me

Children, I am happy now

With a crown so bright upon my brow

Friends, you must meet me here
