This site is changing. Please be patient while I work on it. Thank you!

Most of the data that was on this site is being transferred to the Adair County Historical Society web site.

Unless noted, I put everything I have on these pages ....

Adair County Mailing List     It's here!

It is tenderly cared for by ~Leslie~

You can subscribe to your Adair County list in mail mode by sending a message
to MOADAIR-L-request@rootsweb.com   that contains the word   subscribe    and nothing else.  If you prefer digest mode, you should send the command instead to MOADAIR-D-request@rootsweb.com.

To unsubscribe, you should send the command "unsubscribe" to  MOADAIR-L-request@rootsweb.com (if in mail mode) or  MOADAIR-D-request@rootsweb.com (if in digest mode.)  To switch from one mode to the other, you should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other.  There is no "no mail" mode -- if you want messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe.  (Note for AOL users, if you must put something in the subject line, just type "subscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line as well.)

To post/email to both MOADAIR-L and MOADAIR-D, messages should be sent to MOADAIR-L@rootsweb.com.  Messages sent there will appear both places.  Use this email to send to the list.  It will send an email to everyone subscribed.

My name is Claudia Minor and I am the coordinator of Adair and Knox County for The  MOGenWeb Project.  The Adair and Knox County MOGenWeb projects are non-profit and the information that is contained on these pages is provided as a free service to you. You are encouraged to use the information contained in the Adair and Knox County MOGenWeb project to help you or others with your genealogical research. However, you MAY NOT sell any of the information contained here.

Like many of you, I, my parents, and my ancestors once lived in Adair County.  My home town is Kirksville and I am now living back home.   If you have information to add to this project, please let me know.  My GGG Grandfather Beverly Lewis Minor and wife Sarah (Routt) from Pendleton Co, KY with kids John, Richard (my GG Grandfather wife, Katherine J. Scott), James, Gideon, George R, Linda Catherine & Pauline, came to Knox Co in March 1857 and settled Fabius Twsp.   My G Grandfather, William T. Minor (wife, Hannah Malissa Haldeman) and his son James E. "Jay" Minor from LaBelle, MO (wife, Geneva Winifer Jones, parents: Noah and Mary Alma (Cloren) Jones  - from Macon County), moved to Adair County.

Yes, I am older than I look *smile*.
You think I would put a picture of me at 56? *giggle*
This is me, at what seems like YESTERDAY, age 27.

Your help is needed and wanted!  I'm trying to obtain records from Adair Co, in order to improve this site for you. Any help you can give is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! *smile*  There are several people researching in Adair that help me out from time to time.  Like: when I have info that needs to be re-typed or someone finds something we can add to "our Adair site". You are also a part of "Our Site".  Please feel that way and know that your input is valued! Adair pictures are also welcome.
