  1. STANDLEY or STANLEY (Harrison or Harris) A history in my possession (of Mendocino Co, CA) says that Harrison and his father, Harris, lived in Andrew Co. between 1835 and 1850, at which time Harrison came out to CA for the Gold Rush. It says that for twenty months between ca 1848 & 1850 Harrison lived in St. Joseph, where he followed teaming. His parents supposedly lived with him. Harris Stanley/Standley, the father, reportedly lived to between 110 and 115 years of age, and it is Harris in whom I am most interested. I believe him to have been the father of my 3Gr-grandfather, John Standley, who was the first settler in 1819 in the part of Howard Co, MO, which is now Carroll Co, MO. In 1833, he and his wife gave 80 acres of land for the county seat of Carroll Co. They had been living in Wilkes Co, NC, where they bought 160 acres of Military Bounty land from a George Combs of Wilkes Co, NC, before their departure for MO. I am trying to find proof of the age of Harris Standley. Anne Standley Brunt, b. 17 Feb 1928 in Carrollton, Carroll Co, MO (Sun Feb 9 1997)

Their mother is Jane ? b. in TN and their father ? Bailey b. in VA. He was not on any of the census records. The oldest son, John is listed as a saloon keeper in Balckow in the 1880 census. He married Sarah Jane Brown and had eight children.

She divorced BERTRAM and married Clarence TERRY when?where? We have been told that she died in St. Jo and is buried in Savannah but we don't know where. Also may have had sisters named Rose,Nancy,Georgia,Alice, and Elsie and brothers named Henry b abt 1902, William b abt 1907 and Steve. 12. RHOADES (Jasper Arthur) of Rosendale, MO, 1850. Bill A Wever, Jasper Arthur Rhoades of 12 children... was born in Rosendale, MO in the year of 1850. Sometime in his life, Jasper married Mary Lucinda Smith. Jasper and Mary had a number of children...12 in fact. We know about 2 of the 12 children...The line of Norma and her cousin Patty. The others...nothing but we have hopes. Jasper and Mary are buried in English Grove cemetery outside of Rockport. Complicating matters is the fact Jasper and Mary had children born in Missouri, but don't show on any census. I have sent queries to KS, IA and hoping to find them there but no luck. Though we know when and where they are buried the newspaper did not print their obit. Jasper and Mary lived near Neoshbonta...or something like that. There was an article that three daughters went to Jasper's father's funeral.
