The arrow is pointing to my grandmother's sister, Elsie Keeton. Submitted by: Steve Ray Photo Note: Donna Cooper - Second from the left on the front row is possibly Aaron Haddock. He was called "Shorty" by the family. His parents were Samuel Sanders and Gertrude (Addington) Haddock. He was living in Pleasant Ridge Twp., and was 15 in July of 1930. Betty Lamberson wrote this: Yes, there are most likely Higgs in this photo, children of William Franklin Higgs or daughters of Ray Higgs but I cannot identify them, as the photo was made 8 years before I was born...And I would have known them as adults ... however, I believe that the girl standing to the right of the teacher to be either Hester, Hazel or Eupha Warren ... a Higgs Grandaughter ... and the girl standing directly in front of her in the plaid dress to be Helen Sanders Hudson who later graduated in Wheaton in 1934. And one of her brothers, Wendell, or Edsel Sanders about the middle of the front row. Clarence and Lottie Sanders had a large family who lived on Highway W west of Butterfield and their children went to both Butterfield school and Wheaton School. depending on transportation? They sometimes boarded with friends or relatives at either place. They were longtime members of New Hope Church and my family knew them well. Many others look familiar but I am not certain? |
