Research Note: Frederick Elmer Nickle was inducted on May 28, 1918. He trained with the 88 Infantry Division. He was assigned E Company, 350 Infantry Regiment, 88 Division. Elmer sailed for France on
Aug 11, 1918 in H.M.S. Delta. He served in the Center Sector, Haute Alsace. Elmer arrived back in the States on May 30, 1919. His discharge papers describe him as a farmer having brown eyes, brown
hair, ruddy complexion and 5 feet, 9 inches in height. He was honorably discharged at Camp Zachary Taylor, Louisville, KY on Jun. 7, 1919.
