Research Note: The Wheaton Journal, June 16, 1919 "Muncie Chapel column - A number of relatives and friends gathered at the home of R.D. Tarvin Sunday. At the noon hour a basket dinner was spread. The occasion was in honor of their sons, Ralph and Virgil who arrived home Wednesday from overseas. Ralph served in France."

The Tarvin family came to Barry County March 28, 1873 and settled on a farm north of what later became Wheaton, near Muncie Chapel. This land remained in the Tarvin Family until 1960.
