The quartet who sang was Mrs. Kenneth Corn, Melvin Tichenor, Earl Hooten, and Martin Hulsen. Pallbearers were Earl Francis, George Ford, Kenneth Corn, Tom Fossard, Gene Cook, Leslie Phillips, all veterans of WWII. All were dressed in uniform.

Research Note: According to the Wheaton Journal Of April, 1944 and a letter from Leslie to his parents, he saw the world! Went first to South America where he was stationed in Brazil. From there he was sent to South Africa and later Ireland. He also flew 20 combat missions with the 587th Bombardment Squadron stationed in Britain. He was aboard a B26 Bomber when it was struck by Anti Air Craft Fire over Germany and the aircraft crashed and burned on the way back to base in a field in England. He was severely injured and was discharged in Oct. 1945. He received a Purple Heart Medal. Leslie later served 37 years with the U.S. Postal Dept. and was Postmaster for 18 years in Wheaton, MO
