Research Note: He was son of the late Joseph H. Evans and Eva (Ozburn) Evans. He spent his early years in McDowell and graduated from Purdy High School and attended Monett Jr. College. Cornell’s first job was at Verona High School where he supervised study hall and drove a school bus. Later he taught 7th and 8th grades where he met his wife Sammy. In 1948, he took a job with Producers Milk Plant as a field representative. He worked there for 9 years, then decided to go back into education. He finished his B.S. Degree from SMS (MSU) and obtained his Master’s Degree from Drury University. He taught at Monett High School and later was Junior High Principal. After retirement, he was a salesman for the Ford Dealer in Monett. On July 6, 1941 in McDowell, MO, Cornell and Sammy Buehler were united in marriage. To this union two children were born. |

Research Note: Ethel Mae Poole was married to Raymond A. Fly. - Abstract: Ethel Fly Lautaret, age 94, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Monett, died yesterday, January 13, at Florence Home in Omaha. Mrs. Lautaret was born September 13, 1905, in Atoka in Indian Territory, later known as Oklahoma, the daughter of Tom and Theresa (Smith) Poole. She married Raymond Fly in 1923, and he preceded her in death in 1964. She married Hank Lautaret in 1970, and he preceded her in death. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 17, at Bethel Cemetery south of Monett. |
