Inscription: "The Vacant Place Cannot Be Filled" - Research Note: I believe this person is Easter Catherine Ellis, first wife of Francis Marion Ellis. I have not been able to ascertain her maiden name, but the couple are found in the 1860 census in McMinn Co., TN and in the 1870 & 1880 censuses in Crane Creek Township, Barry Co., MO. Francis M. Ellis married Cassie Vauslorn, July 12, 1900, in Barry County. Jim's Note: Easter Catherine Tunnell, wife of Francis Marion Ellis, was the daughter of Jesse Tunnell and Rebecca Davis of McMinn County, TN. Jesse Tunnell was the son of John Tunnell and was named in his will. Correction: Francis Marion Ellis's second wife was Cassie Van Horn, a widow, not Vauslorn as I previously wrote. Records used were Tennessee Marriage Records, Census Records, Last Will and Testament of John Tunnell, McMinn County, TN GenWeb site |
