FLY, Zilpha (PIPKIN) |
Jan. 1, 1777 |
Dec. 1843 |
Research Note: Wife of Jeremiah Fly and Daughter of Asher Pipkin and Martha Paris. Research Note: Jack Fly added: There is no headstone and has not been one for 40 years or more. The date of death may not right for Zilpha (1843). Listed on the 1840 census Jeremiah is in the home of his youngest son Elisha. They arrived in Barry county between 1836 -40. Zilpha (or a woman in her age bracket) is not listed in the 1840 Barry County census as living with any of the Fly families. It would only make sense that she would have been living with her husband in the home of their son. Zilpha either died before 1840 or was missed by the census taker. If she died before 1840, then she would have been one of first burials in Corsicana. It's possible that she never made it to Barry Co., MO. |
