LONG, Anna (LAKEY) |
Mar 19, 1798 |
aft 1870 |
Research Note: No Stone. She was the wife of Hiram Long. She was the fourth great grandmother of Donna Cooper. It isn't known where she is buried, but assumed next to Hiram. Since Maddy Cemetery wasn't being used this early it would make sense that they were buried here. Also - Anna is possibly buried in Springfield, MO, and not in Barry County by Hiram. |

LONG, Hiram |
May 20, 1796 |
1862 |
Research Note: No Stone - Husband of Anna (Lakey) Long - According to family and to Goodspeed he was murdered by bushwhackers - along with a son. Hiram was the 4th great grandfather of Donna Cooper. He may be buried in Maddy but probably he was buried in Corsicana since it is an older cemetery than Maddy. |
|
|
LONG, John Dake |
1827 |
1862 -1867 |
Research Note: Third great grandfather of Donna Cooper - John Dake Long was the son of Hiram and Anna (Lakey) Long - husband of Lavina Bellah. He was probably murdered during the Civil War along with his father, Hiram Long. Barry Co., MO, Page 145, Letters of Administration. George Long, Lenard Long, John D. Long, Simon H. Long, Kizah Long and Samantha Long, minor heirs of J. D. Long, deceased. Bond: $ 200., 30 March 1867, William Cannon, Administrator, William W. Lee and Thomas Smith, bondsmen. I had thought that he was probably buried at Maddy by his wife Lavina - but Maddy might not have been a cemetery at the time that he died. Since Corsicana is an older cemetery, he was probably buried there. |

Research Note: William Henry Weeks died 29 October 1946. A handwritten note reads that it was published in the Cassville, MO, Democrat paper (Oct 30, 1946?) A portion of the obit is missing but I've included a note on the parts that I think I know based on research. "Pioneer Resident of County Dies at Daughter's Home Funeral To Be Held Thursday For William Henry Weeks, 96, Of Exeter." His obituary states that his birth date was February 4, 1850. Family thinks it could have been February 4, 1852. |

Research Note: Death certificate of Mary "Jane" Hart Whittington reads that she was born January 4, 1851 in Corsicana and died May 1, 1928 and is buried in the Corsicana Cemetery. Her father was given as John Hart and her mother was Mary (Enlow) Hart, born in TN. Her husband was Ed (Edward W. ) Whittington born Apr. 8, 1837 in Bartholomew Co., IN and died June 24, 1897 also buried in Corsicana. The death certificate has a different death date than the stone. The death certificate is probably correct. |
