Inscription: "TM3 US NAVY WORLD WAR II PURPLE HEART" - This is a memorial stone, erected by his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Rose. Ray served in the Navy on a submarine and went down with his ship. He married Gusta Patterson, daughter of Charles Lewis Patterson and Anna Ella Pendergraft.
