Benjamin was born & buried in Goshen, AR and her mother Susan born in Barger, Texas - and buried in Goshen, AR. Benjamin & Susan were married in Barger, TX in 1864. Katie married Richard Butler Day in 1894 in Washington Co., AR. They had several children including my Grandmother Nellie Susan (Day) Lee. Grandma Katie always claimed that she was 2nd cousin to Jesse & Frank James. She said her dad, Benjamin, was a blacksmith and used to shoe the James gang horses when Jesse & Frank would visit them in Goshen, AR. |

Research Note: Spelling is Doyle on stone - the others listed have the spelling of Doyel. She was a daughter of Charles and Martha Henley Kemper. In 1934 she married John Edward Doyle of Monett, Missouri, who preceded her in death. In l940 Mrs. Doyle had the honor of representing the State of Missouri at a lawn party honoring veterans at the White House given by President and Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Betty K. Doyle worked for the Federal Government in Washington, D. C., from l939 until l973 when she retired from the Environmental Protection Agency where she served as the Liaison Specialist to the top State Sanitary Engineers. |

Research Note: Cassville Democrat May 5, 1928 - John Drinkwater Dies Near Exeter, Tuesday - John F. Drinkwater, an old and highly respected citizen of Barry county, died at his home three and one-half miles north of Exeter at 12 o’clock Tuesday, May 1 of the infirmities of old age. He was born of English parents in Illinois, Jan 5, 1841, being 87 years, 3 months and 26 days old at the time of his death. His wife and one son, Mile passed away several years ago. Four sons, Charles, and Ora of California, Homer of Fairview and John of the home address, and two daughters, Mrs. Hettie Howerton of Exeter and Miss Ollie of the home address survive. The funeral was held at the Christian church in Exeter conducted by Rev. C. M.
