Research Note: Her death certificate gives her death date as Mar. 11, 1911 and not 1910 as the stone reads - so 1911 would be the correct date. She was a daughter of Benjamin Franklin Short, born Platte Co., MO and Anna Leonard, born Gentry Co., MO. Ira Short of Exeter, MO was the informant. Donna's Note: Benjamin was a son of Abner and Margaret Ann (Burnett) Short. Margaret Ann married second George Masoner, Jr. She was the Aunt Marg that John Burnett's children remembered and talked about. They called them Grand Pa and Aunt Marg, because Margaret was an aunt on the Burnett side. She was a sister to John Burnett, and were the children of Wilson Burnett. John and Susan (Masoner) Burnett are buried in Concord. Benjamin and Anna are buried in High Ridge Cemetery in Gentry Co., MO. |

SSW: Amy - Research Note: From Effie Erwin Atwell's Scrap Book - ABE SNOOK DIED LAST MONDAY AT AGE OF 45 - Abraham Lincoln Snook was born in Bolivar, Mo., Feb. 6, 1884 and died at his home near Wayne Dec. 15, 1929. He was 45 years, 10 months and 7 days at the time of his passing. He moved to Barry county with his parents when six years old, He and Amy Michael were married, Oct 9, 1904. To this union seven children were born, whoa are Elmer of near Wayne, and Mrs. Oma Lee of Exeter, George, Harold, Garland, Marie and Wentford all at home. He leaves his aged parent, Mr. and Mrs. E. Snook of Fayetteville, Ark. His wife and children, two brothers and two sisters who are Farmer of Monett and Bob of Exeter, Mrs. Ben Hawkins of Anderson and Mrs. Stanley Barnhart of Seminole, Okla., to mourn his passing. He was a good man and leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing. # Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Vanzandt Monday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in the Maplewood Cemetery at Exeter. Research Note: Missouri death Cert. 39619 gives birth as Feb. 8, 1884, born in Bolivar, MO, and parents as Elmer (born Kansas) and Julia (Elkins)(born Missouri) Snook. His wife was listed as Amie Snook, who died Dec. 5, 1929, Washburn Twp., Barry Co., MO. Burial was in Exeter. |
