Research Note: Daughter of Ames and Roxie (Jones) Oxendine. In 1945, in Pierce City, she was united in marriage to John E. Beattie, who preceded her in death in 1966. To this union four children were born. In 1968, she married Doyle E. Williamson in Nowata, Okla., who died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Johnny William Beattie; a brother, Billy Oxendine and a sister, Margie Inman. From 1950 to 1966 she lived in Seligman, Exeter and Cassville with her first husband, John Beattie, where he served as superintendent of area schools. She owned and operated Helen's Beauty Shop in Cassville from 1962 until 2000. From 1968 to 1990, she lived in Cassville with her second husband, Doyle Williamson. During these years she assisted her husband at Williamson Funeral Home and continued running her beauty salon. |
