Research Note: Steve Wae Applegate, age 53, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield. He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Claremore, Okla., and was a son of Billy Wae and Lillian Josephine (Carter) Applegate. On Aug. 9, 1990, in Canton, Ga., he was united in marriage to Susan Lea Rosander. He received his education in Modesto, Calif. He worked most of his life as a cabinet maker in Alpharetta, Ga., and was also an ordained minister, serving as a youth pastor and in prison ministries. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, in the First Baptist Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Rev. Bob Gaddis will conduct the service. Burial will be at Mikeman Cemetery, Shell Knob. |

Research Note: Wendell Ray Cooper, age 63, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Crescent, Ore., and was a son of Estel and Irene (Mikeman) Cooper, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by five brothers. He resided in Orlando, Fla., before moving to Missouri seven years ago. He had been employed at a furniture factory and built home for several years. Memorial services will be held at a later date. His body has been cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville - Marla's Note: Noel was Wendell Cooper's brother, and a son of Irene (Mikeman) and Estel Cooper. He was born September 24, 1945, near Mt. Sterling, Illinois, and was a son of David Otis and Violet Marie Rigg. He was a farmer in Franklin, Illinois, and retired to Shell Knob in 1999. He was a member of Illinois Masonic Lodge 616 and the Baptist Church in Viola where he and his wife Alice attended. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
