Jan. 22, 1942 Research Note: His death certificate reads that his name was Fidella Earl Moad, but the stone reads Earl. It reads that he was an invalid. He was age 29 years and 28 days old at the time of his death. His father was given as Fidella Elliott Moad, born Sedalia, MO, and his mother as Belle Basham, born Mountainburg, AR. Research Note: Death certificate gives his birth date as Aug. 2, 1898. WW I Draft Reg. give his birth date as Aug. 17, 1898. He was a student at Drury College in Springfield, MO when he registered in 1918. Father, F. E. Moad of Monett, MO. According to the census he was the son of Fidella "Fred" E. Maod and Belle Basham. He was a life insurance salesman and married. An inquest was held. An autopsy was performed and from the findings, cause of death was toxic fastritis, acute poisoning nature of kind not known at present. Waiting for further analysis. The death certificate gave his father as John E. Moad and mother Martha Belle Moad, which must be incorrect. Rev. C. C. Moffett in Tulsa, OK and a teacher. 1940 Census, she was in Tulsa OK, divorced, and a teacher. Residence in 1935 was Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Monett High School in 1944. She married Elmus Lewis "Judge" Monroe in September of 1947, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1978. She was a homemaker and retired as Executive Secretary of the Monett Chamber of Commerce after many years of service. Among her many community activities were the PEO Sisterhood, Springfield Little Theater Guild, Southwest Missouri Art Museum Associates and twice a Cub Scout Den Mother. A lifelong Democrat, she proudly served as an election judge for many years. Monett Times

She attended school in Monett and graduated with the Class of 1932. She then furthered her education at the Monett Jr. College. Norma was a homemaker, but also helped in many capacities with her husband's business, Mooney's Conoco Service Station. Norma spent many hours helping at The Trunk, as well as at Sue Sebastian's dress shop. Norma was also a member of the Eastern Star, P.E.O., a Monett Garden Club and the P.T.A during her children's school years. On July 22, 1934 in Monett, Norma M. Davis and George Mooney were united in marriage. They were blessed with over sixty-two years together before his passing in 1997. To this union, two children were born. Preceding her in death was her son, Tom Mooney; her parents, Lester and Iva Davis; one grandson, Justin James; one great-grandson, Thomas Jones; and one brother, William C. Davis. There is very little information on his death certificate and Drury Wilkerson, Monett, MO, was the informant. Cause of death was unknown to the jury. In 1900 Stephen Mott was listed in Monett living with his wife, Mary Jane. He gave his birth place as NY, and both parents as born in NY. He reported May 1842 as his birth month and year, which matches his stone dates. He is buried next to Julia and Charles Goldsborough. The cemetery log book reads that he was a veteran. Research Note: His death certificate gives his name as Herman August Myers and not spelled Meyer as the stone reads. His wife is given as Molly Myers and he was a retired miller. The names of his parents were not given, but it was listed that they were both born in Germany. The cause of death was listed as auricular fibrillation. Ernest Mitchell, MD, Monett, MO, was his doctor. Mrs. E. R. Matthews, Monett, MO, was the informant. He is listed incorrectly in the cemetery log book as Herman A. Meyer. The cemetery log has that Herman A. Meyer is buried in the old section, in block 94, in a single lot, in grave 5, single #13 on Jan. 28, 1926. - 1900 Census, Birch Tree, Shannon, Missouri - Herman A.
