Research Note: He married Columbia Eden, January 18, 1890, in Barry Co., MO. He was a son of William Marshall & Nancy (Haddock) Carlin. His death certificate states that he died on the 27th. And it reads that he died from the effects of a ruptured appendix. Pleas Carlin gave the information. Monett Times Feb 28, 1923 stated that Solomon Carlin died at the Springfield Hospital Feb. 27 and was to be buried on the 29th. The cemetery stone has different dates from the obit and the death certificate. |

Research Note: Cassville Democrat, July 9, 1904 Benjamin Reno of near Mineral Springs died very suddenly, July 1st of heart failure, age 61 years. He was born in Lawrence County, PA, Jan 2, 1843 and came to Barry County in 1884 and settled on Stone's Prairie, where he resided until about two years ago, when he sold his farm there and moved to his late home. He and been in bad health for sometime and on the day of his death had gone to his barn and when found was sitting with one hand supporting his head. He left a wife and five children to mourn his death. He was a good citizen and had the respect and confidence of all his acquaintances. Besides he was a consistent member of the Protestant Methodist church. The remains were laid to rest in the Mt Pisgah Cemetery on King's Prairie, July 2nd. Barry County has lost a splendid citizen his family a loving husband and father. |
