Norwood, Freistatt, MO, Born on Oct. 5, 1927, during the depression, I am Irish and Indian. I was raised in the "Children's Home Society" St. Louis, MO. I wrote my 1st poem at 10 years old "The Little Negro's Plea", published in a woman's magazine in St. Louis MO. Many of my poems have been published in local and surrounding papers, World of Poetry, and The National Library of Poetry. I have 50 some golden awards, 30 some silver awards and 10 honorable mentions. I published a poem book "Dearest Darling" on Aug. 16, 1996. My husband, Winford, was my "Dearest Darling". We were married on Apr. 10, 1966 and these poems were written to him and our marriage made in heaven for 30 years. He passed away on Aug. 16, 1995. John was a private in Co. K, 15th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry for the Union during the Civil War. Persiller received his widow's pension. - Cassville Republican, June 19, 1919: Rev. J. R. Parmley died at his home at Butterfield Wednesday, June 11, following several years of very poor health and afflictions from rheumatism. He was 74 years and 26 days old. John Reed Parmley was born in Polk County, IL, May 15, 1845. He had lived in this county and at Butterfield for many years, coming to this county from Newton County. He was married to Susan H. Bridges of Lawrence County in 1866. Mrs. Parmley died in 1881. Sept. 14, 1890 he was married to Mrs. Priscilla McGlasson who survives him. He leaves a half-brother, G. G. Adams of Butterfield, a sister, Mrs. Mills of Pierce City, one daughter and three sons. He was converted in 1867 and united with the Baptist Church. In 1892 he was ordained to the ministry and was ever faithful to his duty until ill health a few years ago prevented him from being any longer active in the service. About ten days ago Rev.
