An old story goes, that it was such a bad winter, the ground was frozen so hard that they couldn't dig graves. So they put all 5 of the Munsey children's bodies in the smoke house until they could be bury them. Some years later the Munsey family deeded the land for a school and cemetery, which is where Munsey Cemetery is located today. |

Charles Albert "Bud" Munsey gave the land for the Munsey School and Cemetery Dec 8, 1883, Section 6, T 21 R 26. The REPUBLICAN is authorized to announce a meeting at the Eagle Rock school house Saturday afternoon, May 31st at 2 o'clock for the purpose of organizing the Munsey cemetery association. Directions: From Cassville take 112 south to Hwy F in Roaring River State Park and turn East (left). F will curve south then right after curves back east turn south (right) on FR1162. The cemetery will be on the north side of the road. |
