Her obituary: Mrs. Hall of near Eagle Rock. Passed away Jan. 03, 1916. She was the wife of Elisha Hall, who died about about a year ago, and the mother of Rev. Carter, Mrs. Reading, and Mrs. Couch. All of Eagle Rock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Beck and the body was laid to rest in the Munsey Cemetery. In the presence of a host of friends and relatives, who mourn her loss. Elizabeth Ferguson was the daughter of James Leroy and Luncille "Lucy" (Waggnor) Ferguson. She was born 1837. Her father was born in Georgia, Dec. 12, 1812, died in Grandview, Carroll, Co., AR, April. 06, 1899. Mrs. Reading, was "Mollie" Mary Emmaline Danley born July 10, 1864 in Green Co., MO, M. Henry Wilburn Reading who was born Aug. 19, 1861, in Quincy, IL, Oct. 27, 1884, Barry Co. Mollie died Oct. 29, 1950. Mrs. Couch, was Margaret Smith. She was the youngest child of Elizabeth. A other one of her daughters married Arthur Reading. and they moved to CA. Elizabeth was married 5 times: George Crabaugh, David Danley, Hastings J. Smith, Charley William Carter and Elisha Hall. |

W. served in the Confederate Army and was captured at Vicksburg, MS. G. W. was the great grandfather of my mother Gladys Georgia Jaggers through John Marion Jaggers. The name is spelled Jagears, Jaggears and Jaggers on the different census rolls but it is the same George Washington Jagears. |

Research Note: The following obituary probably belongs to Martha (not Marian) Jagears. She was the wife of George Washington Jagears who is buried at Munsey. Newspaper Item - Mrs. Martin Jagears passed quietly away Saturday evening. Consumption was the cause of her death. She had a wide acquaintance and was one of the most highly respected of women. She will be greatly missed in this community and the people of Munsey extend their sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives. May God's richest blessings rest upon them in their sad bereavement. Research Note: William was born May 1888, according to the 1900 census, and was a son of George and Mary (Scroggins) Knee. Darla's Note: Freeman Knee - Headline Dead - One of the sadest accidents that has happened in this neighborhood occurred Friday, George Parish's little stepson was plowing a single horse which became frigtened at something and jerked the little fellow off the ground and the second jump the boy's head strick a stump, killing him instantly. The lines were around his waist which caused the horse to drag the helpless boy about one hundred yards. Burial took place Saturday at the Munsey Cemetery. Freeman Knee, 14 year old son of Mr. and Mrs George Parish residing near Eagle Rock was killed last Friday. The boy was plowing ground for a turnip patch and had the lines around his waist. Some one drove past the field and the horses became frightened. The boy was thrown to the ground and the lines were made fast under his arms. Majors Stringer, 87, of Monett died April 8, 2004, at Cox Monett Hospital. She was born July 6, 1916, in Eagle Rock, MO, to Charley and Lula (Shrum) Garrett. She was a homemaker, was a Baptist and enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husbands George Majors, in 1961, and J. E. Stringer, in 1981. Survivors include three sons, one daughter, one brother; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were April 12 at Munsey Cemetery in Eagle Rock under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home in Cassville. Her children were: Lavonne (Mrs. Kenneth Blankenship), Charles Majors, James Majors and George Lee Majors. |

Jessie Reed Maloney's obituary: Eagle Rock News: Jessie Reed Maloney died at the home of her father, October 24th, after about three weeks illness of typhoid fever. Jessie was in the bloom of life, being 21 years old. She was married August 22nd to Arthur Maloney and resided near Eagle Rock. She leaves a husband, father, mother, two sisters, and two brothers and a host of friends to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted on the 25th, by Rev. Will Ireland of Cassville in the presences of a large number of the deceased's friends and neighbors. The bereaved ones have our sympathy. Research Note: March 25, 1905, Saturday, Cassville Democrat - Mrs. John A. McKee died on the 3rd inst. and funeral services were conducted on the afternoon of the 4th by a minister from Eureka Springs, after which the remains were buried in Mucey Cemetery. Mrs. McKee had only been in this community a short time, coming here from Kansas in the fall of 1903 for her husband's health, yet she was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her death is a sad blow to her husband and two little girls and they have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. |

His maternal grandparents were Allen and Julia (Easley) Ball. - Obit: Brian Patrick Miller, age 36, of Joplin, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at Freeman Hospital West from injuries he sustained in an auto accident south of Joplin on Highway NN. Mr. Miller was born March 18, 1961 in Monett, MO and was a resident of Joplin since 1978, moving from Granby. He was a 1979 graduate of Parkwood High School, and attended Missouri Southern State College. He worked for Consumers for 13 years. He was a general contractor and owned and operated Total Image Construction Co. for the past 9 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He Married on July 16, 1983 in Joplin. Additional survivors include three sons, all of the home, his parents, of Joplin: a brother; of Joplin, a sister; of Joplin: paternal grandparents, Richard and Opal Miller, of Cassville; and maternal grandmother of Eagle Rock, Missouri. |
