Ger Lee’s decomposed body was discovered in a field near Granby on May 5. His cousin helped identify the body by recognizing a distinctive gold Buddhist necklace his cousin wore that was found with the skeleton. He was a Wagon Repairer by trade and followed that occupation while living here. He had been Gatekeeper at the Reunion Grounds for many years. He left eight children surviving him, who are: J. W. Lee of Wayne county, who has been with his father during his sickness, Mrs. Louisa Johnson of Jackson county, Tenn., Mrs. J.C. Inscription: Our Mother" - Research Note: She was a daughter of Elias James and Charity (Mullins) Smith. In 1850 she was listed as Mary Mullins and was living in Marion Co., TN, age 10, born TN. It appears from that record that Elias Smith was her step-father and that her true name was named Mullins and not Smith. Phyllis posted that Mary Jane was born in AL, per the death certificate for her. It reads that she was born Sep. 11, 1839 in Alabama. Obit reads 1830 near Shiloh, Tennessee. About the time of the Civil War the family moved to this state. Her first husband whose name was Hays died at Marionville. He was a Federal Soldier. Mrs. Marshall Hutchens, Mrs. Taylor Black and Mrs. Robert Anderson were children of this marriage. In later years she married Andrew W. Lee, a brother of J. R. Research Note: Obit has spelling as Logsden. The death certificate has Logsdon. He was a son of Wilbur and Priscilla Logsdon, both born KY. Informant was M. G. Logsdon of Beaver, AR. He lived in Cassville for awhile about four years ago and worked at his trade, that of a stone mason. He was married in 1869. There was born to them eight children, one daughter, Mrs. Hopton, and three sons, Harry of Idaho, Jasper of Kansas and Guy of Beaver, Ark., survive him.
