SSW: Mary J. - Research Note: He was a son of William M. McBeath, born KY and Benthena Fox, born VA. "T. H. McBeath, Aged 96, Passes Away Sunday, Was Veteran of Two Wars. Invalid Three Years." At the outbreak of the Civil War he joined the Union army in which he served 4 years and 8 months. He re- enlisted and served for one year and two months in the Sioux Indian war under Gen. Miles. During the Civil War he was in the Battle of Lexington, Cold Harbor, Shiloh and the siege of Vicksburg. At the battle of Shiloh he was in charge of the muster roll of the Union army. Never married. In 1968 he moved his family to Springfield, Missouri, where he was a professor at MSU. Research Note: Cassville Democrat, Saturday, Jan. 31, 1920 - She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McBeath, who were born November 1799, in Knox County, Tenn. Her grandfather, Robert McBeath, was born in 1763 in Pennsylvania. She was twice married first to David R. Galloway who died in 1865. In 1868 she and E. O. McKee were married and to this union were born: Grant McKee of near Cassville, Cash and Chat McKee and Mrs. Ollie Willyard of Viola. She died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Brockman and another sister and her brother, J. T. McBeath in this city. After services at the home of her sisters and brother in Cassville at 2 p.m. Monday, the remains were interred in Oak Hill Cemetery.
