Research Note: Son of Ora E. and Lora A. (Easley) Vanderpool who preceded him in death. Leon received his education in Cassville, where he graduated from high school and continued his education at Coffeyville Junior College. From April 1, 1959 until April 1, 1963 Leon served in the United States Navy. In 1982 he moved to Oklahoma, remaining there until 1994. The rest of his life was spent in Barry County, Missouri. For several years he was a custodian for the Cassville Public Schools. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Fohn Funeral Home

VanHook, who when their son was a small child moved to Round Rock, Texas, and were among the early settlers of that county. His father was killed there by the Indians in 1860. About 33 years ago he and his mother came to Cassville where he had lived until death. He was married to Miss Emma Hensley in 1893, a daughter of J. F. Hensley of Mt. Vernon. Research Note: On his son, Charles Patton Vaught's, death certificate it reads that Abraham's wife was Serena Ann Patton, born KY. Abraham was a son of Henry and Esther (Baugh) Vaught. Henry's father, John Andrew Vaught, came from Carlsbad, Germany, and died in Montgomery Co., VA, in 1787. Henry, Abraham's father, was a brother to my ancestor, Andrew Vaught. Andrew was the grandfather of K. C. (Broyles) Berryhill who also lived in Barry County. Note
